Artists in Residence
Within the framework of the various residency programs, international artists bring new impulses to Gmunden and realize their ideas here, inspired by the historic atmosphere of the town, the magnificent landscape and, last but not least, the stimulating culture.
Exhibitors at the pottery market
Every year, about 130 international exhibitors present their products at the pottery market on the town hall square and along the esplanade.
Flamers of the Gmundner Ceramics Manufactory
Each piece that is made in the manufactory is unique. A stamp even reveals who flamed the respective product.
Gmundner Art Association
Colorful and diverse presents the association, which unites artists of various genres, including, of course, from the field of ceramics.
Gmundner porcelain design
The company, formerly known as Gmundner Handwerkskeramik Pesendorfer, offers porcelain with Gmundner decorations for hotels, restaurants as well as mountain huts.
Robert Hellmeier tiled stoves
The Gmundner manufactures tiles by hand for tiled stoves of various epochs – from the Renaissance to the 19th century.
Ceramist duo Mascha Kosareva and Martin Kunze make tiles, tiles, utensils and art objects on customer’s request. Martin Kunze is also the initiator of the Memory of Mankind project.
Salzkammergut Art Forum
The association runs its own gallery in Gmunden, where it exhibits works by its approximately 70 members from a variety of artistic disciplines.

The ceramics store offers an appealing sales platform to emerging and already well-known artists.
Art workshop Gmunden – Lebenshilfe Upper Austria
The art workshop is a professionally equipped and accompanied studio for the free artistic work of people with intellectual disabilities; its core group consists of full-time artists and one guest artist.
Main areas of work are: Cooperations with studios of other social institutions, development of design concepts for companies, work and business – in cooperation with Kunstforum Salzkammergut – by DIE GALERIE Gmunden, presence in many exhibitions.z
The “Lebenswelt Pinsdorf” – a care facility of the “Convent Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy Linz” – offers deaf and deaf-blind people with additional impairments therapeutic living and working communities with secure communication. In the workshops of the associated “Arbeitswelt Pinsdorf” these people produce, among other things, unique ceramics, which are offered for sale at the pottery market, for example.
The carpenter, sculptor, ceramist and filmmaker lives and works in Vienna and Gmunden.
Moritz Paul Spiesberger
The potter and ceramist creates individual animal sculptures using the special raku firing technique.
