Member of the European Route of Ceramics

The European Ceramic Route is a cultural route certified by the Council of Europe and connects ceramic cities and institutions across Europe. Their common goal is to preserve and communicate the multifaceted heritage of ceramic production.

International Academy of Ceramics IAC

The IAC unites ceramists, professionals and institutions on an international level and promotes their cooperation and friendly exchange. The nearly 1,000 members come from 78 different countries around the world. Since 2001, the IAC has been an official partner of UNESCO in the cultural field. Gmunden has been promised admission to this top-class network for 2023.

Association of European Ceramic Cities

The Association of European Ceramic Cities AEuCC (Agrupación Europea de Cooperación Territorial Ciudades de la Cerámica) is an umbrella organization whose members are associations of ceramic cities at country level. Gmunden has the status of an observing member, as there is currently no such association of ceramic cities in Austria.

ARGINET

ARGINET (Artistic ‘Argilla’ Clay Actions for EU Ceramic Network) was a temporary and EU-supported project of the ceramic cities Argentona (Spain), Aubagne (France), Bolesławiec (Poland) and Gmunden. All these cities regularly organize ceramics markets or festivals, which have become even more attractive thanks to the synergy effects of cooperation, new program ideas and internationalization.

The ceramics of the San/Namibia

In 2021, Gmundner Keramik Manufaktur started an Art Aid cooperation with the San population group in Namibia. In workshops in the Kalahari, designs and objects are created that are regularly presented in exhibitions and also serve as inspiration for new products.
